On that census, is on the last page of that district. Also the family of George and Jane are surrounded by the families WHITEHEAD. Also enumerated at the same location as the MILLS family, are listed WHITEHEAD family members. And surrounded by same surnamed families, as well as TAYLOR and YARWOOD. Possibly they may be related??? Have you tried checking for Ohio census, ca 1820 or 1830, to see if there is a MILLS family that has a child that might fit George's age?? He is listed as age 41 on the 1850 census and Jane is age 30. The first child ? Listed only by initials, is listed as age 20. The next age 18. So more than likely, Jane is the second wife, with the 2 or 3 youngest children being hers??? On the 1840 census for Habersham, GA are listed many of the same YEARWOOD or YARWOOD families along with WHITEHEAD in the same area, but no MILLS. But there is listed a couple pages before the WHITEHEAD's is a Thomas MILES??? Which might be MILLS??? Depended on how the census taker heard the name given, and how he percieved it to be spelled. Hope this may help a little bit. Pat cw Notify Administrator about this message?
