I don't know if they were quakers or not. In any of the information I have, religion does not come up. James was born December 31, 1817 in TN. He married a Keziah/Kesiah/Kizzie, born in AL. They are in Alabama in the 1850, 1860 Census with their children. They lived in Franklin County, AL. He listed himself as a Farmer. Their Children: William Lee, Nancy catherine, Thomas Benton, James Howell, David Albert, Matilda Cordelia,mDaniel S., Hannah Modina, Claiborne Townsend. William born September 16, 1820 in TN married Matilda C. Taylor in Alabama, September 1846. She was born in AL, August 2, 1826. They lived in Franklin County, AL. They are in the 1850 and 1860 Census. There is also a William of the right age in Franklin County in 1840 and a William of the right age in Colbert Co. in 1880. Colbert Co. was formed from part of Franklin county. Many of the children of both settled and lived and died in Colbert County. There children: Massey,(f), Mary Polly,James Robert (my Great Great Grandfather),m Malone (Loney, (f), Mahulda Mahoma and Saphrona C.. By looking into TN census records, Jefferson County TN seems a likely place that these two originated from. They are Brothers as documented in family papers and they also lived next door to each other. Any help is appreciated. I am basically, trying to eliminate the Mills families in Tennesse in 1817-1820 when they were born so that I have something to work with. Thanks.
