Mike - I'm a g-g-g grandson of Samuel Scottand I think I've seen some info. from you before.(Abagail Yates descends from the same line as I do).I agree with all of your info. except for a son James who marries Hannah Mills. My g-g grandfather was James Mills Scott born in Pa. on 7Aug 1801 and in our records the oldest child of Samuel and Abigail(They were married 15July 1800). All the rest of the list is the same as we have. Mary Scott, who may have been the youngest was married at James Mills Scott's home in Grant Co., Wisconsin to a Bingham and then accompanied the family by wagon train to Ca. in 1852.Also, Samuel Scott died in Grant Co., Wisconsin in 1844 and was sent back to be buried in Ohio. James Mills Scott is listed in his will as one of the executors. The story in the archives of Butler Co., Ohio that refers to Samuel Scott coming by river in a dugout canoe sometime around 1810-1811 accompanied by his son cannot apply to the other boys who seem to be quite a bit younger but was probably his eldest son then around 10 years old.James Mills Scott married Mary Richey in 1822 and name two of his older children Samuel and Abigail. One of our distant Scott cousins in Washington also didn't have James Mills Scott's name in his family list but did have a birthdate without a name for the oldest son which turned out to be 7Aug.1801 the same date we have.(We have a hand made stitchery handed down in the family done by Mary Richie Scott that lists the birth dates of the parents and their nine children.Hope this helps.
