Millie MILLINDER/MILLANDER, etc. m CARTER NC or VA

We've been looking for years for the parentage of Millie. She was born around 1750, and married our Henry CARTER in about 1770. Henry served in the Revolution in either the VA or NC line. By 1784 they were in Wilkes Co., NC, with several children. Some records say "Millie" with no last name, and others say "Millinder", so we always believed her first name was Melinda and she was called Millie for short.

Today I was checking the Wilkes Co., NC GenWeb site and found on the 1790, 1810, and 1820 indexes the surnames MILLENER, MILINER, and MILLENDER. I also found a William Millinder in Granville Co., NC in 1790, and James Millender in Haywood Co., NC in 1830. I don't know if these are connected.

Is anyone working on these families?
