Children of John Milliken and Isabella Doak
Posted by: Terry Magyar (ID *****4010) Date: April 11, 2012 at 14:28:09

Until today, I've never found a reference to John Milligan, of Ohio Co WV, estate settlement.

WV Estate Settlement book, p. 96

Milligan, Will, 4-31-1832
Dev.: Sarah (wife), George, James, John and Hugh Milligan; Mary Given (Giffen), Hannah Brown, Sarah Morrison, Elizabeth Dawney (Downing), Ruth Faris, Lydia McCoy.

Note: I have 1838 as John's dod, from his tombstone.

I believe this doc. proves John's only wife was Sarah Robinson and these ten children are exactly what I have documented in my "Terry Magyar" family tree at ancestry.com.

I'm wondering if anyone might have a copy of the original ?

-----------------------------------------------------------

We also have a copy of John Milliken's estate settlement.

This John married Isabella Doak.

All the children: John Milligan II, Samuel Doak, Virginia "Jenny", and Mary Polly Milliken purchased items from their father's estate. This was the extent of his prodogy.

Additionally, the tombstone photos I've collected are inscribed MILLGAN in Ohio Co., WV and MILLIKEN in Lincoln Co., TN.

-----------------------------------------------------------

This should be proof of two seperate families, two different estates, with different census records of two families in two different states.

John and Sarah Robinson, MILLIGAN of Ohio Co., WV and

John and Isabella Doak, MILLIKEN of Lincoln Co., TN.
