MISHAWAKA, IN - Hazel E. Williams, 108, died on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005. She was born Dec. 15, 1896, in Killwinning, Mo., to Orville and Emma Milliken. She married Forrest Glen Williams in September 1917. He died in 1968. Survivors include one daughter, Ruth (Robert) Butz of Mishawaka, with whom she lived; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 48 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two children, Emma (Urlin) Gaskill and Forrest Glen Williams Jr. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bubb's Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka and for one hour prior to the celebration of life at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Third St., Mishawaka. Mrs. Williams moved from Missouri to Indiana when she was 4 years old, coming in a boxcar with her family's wagon and horses. She moved to Mishawaka when her family bought a farm there. She attended Five Points Elementary School and South Bend High School. Mrs. Williams enjoyed working in her garden, crocheting baby booties, tatting, holding babies, cooking her homemade noodles and baking her sour cream and date-filled cookies. She enjoyed attending her church, East United Methodist, where she taught Sunday school for 16 years and enjoyed visiting with the other members of United Methodist Women. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Mishawaka or the charity of one's choice. Notify Administrator about this message?
