I think this may be my family.I see from A Helen Miligan Sells in "500 First Families of American" compiled by Alexander DuBin, Historical Publishing Society NY?
"WILLIAM MILLIKIN, emigrant ancestor of this family, born as early as 1720, came from the North of Ireland and settled in Chester County, PA, among the Quaker settlement there 1739 to 1758....In 1749..... removed to Rowan Co. NC...In 1782, during the American Revolution his house was burned by the Tories...married JANE WHITE and was living in 1805." In "The History of the Milignas, Mellanges, Milligans, etc.,Gen and Bio" compiled by Rev Gideon T. Ridon, Sr., I see more information. Theirchildren were:

3-Sarah m John Mills
4-Alexander
5-Mary m Robert Bratton
6-David
7-Benjamin m Rebecca Rush
8-Martha m James Frazier
9-Hannah m Enos Blair of Randolf Co NC and find a friend here. Bob McConnell is from this line
10-WILLIAM was the eldest child andm ELEANOR SMITH in 10 AUg 1776. They had 13 children of whom Rev. ELIHU, a Baptists minister had m NANCY HURSTwas the fifth son.In 1792, the parents had settled in northeastern TN near Morriston.WILLIAM died 2 Sep 1838.
I wasn't able to complete this information from what I have given you except to say I have been told my CAPT. THOMAS WALLACE married their daughter REBECCA MILLIGAN13 May 1770 in TN.I hope this is some help and will lead to more information from others.Luanne Spence Taylor,
