(My Grandmother)Elizabeths Mother was Catherine Brevarid (GG)..She was Born in Scotland abt 1847 and Died 1926 in West Warwick RI and is buried there...She married William Milligan...William (My GG) also born in Scotland he died In North Carolina 1912 in NC...as you will see his obituary below also...I would Just Love to connect with my Milligan Roots...I have worked so hard on this family tree...and I have a lot of info...So If any one can connect to these Milligans Listed below in the following obituaries..I would love to see faces of my Milligan side of the family...I certainly know they are here in Rhode Island and Newyork

FRANCIS S. MILLIGAN,(great Grandson Of William) 76, of Edendale Drive, a personnel manager for Owens-Corning Fiberglass Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1983, died yesterday at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the husband of Alice (Gavlik) Milligan.
Bornin Cumberland, a son of the late J. Andrew and Catherine V. (Scott) Milligan, he lived most of his life in Lincoln. Mr. Milligan was a 1941 graduate of Rhode Island College. He served as a first lieutenant in World War II. He was a bombardier, flying32 combat missions over Germany and France with the Eighth Air Force. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and the E.T.O. Ribbon with four battle stars for the Air Offensive of Europe, Normandy,Northern France and the Rhineland. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 2005 and American Legion Post 33, both of Lincoln, and the 493rd Bombardment Group Memorial Association. He was a past trustee and past president of the parish councilof St. Jude Church.
Besides his wife he leaves four sons, Thomas P. Milligan of Warwick, Robert B. Milligan, Michael S. Milligan and Paul Milligan, all of Pawtucket; and a sister, Mary F. Milligan of Cumberland.
The funeral will be held Thursday at8 a.m. from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Jude Church, Front Street. Burial with military honors will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cumberland.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 7:45 a.m. from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Broad St., Cumberland. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cumberland.

Cause was heart failure. Buried 27 Sept 1912 Elmwood Cemetery. Informant T H Milligan of Charlotte.
The Evening Chronicle,Charlotte,NC Thursday Sept 26,1912 front page "Mr.William Milligan,formerly of Laurinburg,but recently of Charlotte,dropped dead while at the supper table last night at 9 o'clock at his home on East Hill street. Heart failure is said to have been the cause of his death. He is survived by his wife and several children. He was 65 years of age. The deceased was a highly esteemed man."
The Evening Chronicle,Charlotte,NC Friday Sept 27,1912 front page "The funeral services of Mr.W.M.Milligan,who died Wednesday night,were heled this morning at 9 o'clock at St. Peter's Catholic church. Father Joseph conducted the services. Messrs.C.H.O'Neal,C.W.Gallager,Dan McAllister,P.H. Phelan,M.J.Roach and M.J.Doran were the pall-bearers. The interment was in Elmwood."

Born in Charlotte, NC, he was formerly of Cortland, NY and had resided in Naples since 1977. Thomas attended Syracuse University and was a Veteran of the Navy during WW II. Thomas is survived by his wife, Marion, four sons; Thomas H. Milligan III and wife, Allison of Binghamton, NY, Michael W. Milligan and wife, Barbara of Cortland, NY, Brian D. Family and friends are invited to call at Fuller Funeral Home 1625 Pine Ridge Road on Friday, July 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 26th, 11:00 a.m. at St William Catholic Church, 750 Seagate Drive.
