Kay, I went to a DAR tea thhis week and they told me aobut Genforum. I typred in Millican and found your posting. This IS my family. John Millican and Rachel Brownmarried -license from Wilkerson Co, MSP 292 of marriage book.John was born? . Have Rachel Brown died Jult 1827. Her father Richard Brown swore that Rachel was his daughter. EBR Parish probate #94. John married Anna Higginbotham OPct. 15, 1812 Amite Co. MS
john's 2 sons were William Barton Millican born 1810 Married Eliabeth and then Bezora Lisenby (somehow in Gayle family, too) E Fel Par, LA Bk A P 19-20. William B died Jan 13, 1877 in Millican Bible. His brother was Hugh Millican b in 1812. I'm 69 but remember my mother who has been dead for 30 yrs, recounting that the 2 boys were raised by a nanny on Bayou Sara and she insisted that they dress for dinner and be respectable. Don't know why but that story was reapeated many times in Millican Family. . William Barton's children William Watson and Joseph Millican who married Sara Ann Elizabeth Noble (have her picture) and their 3 sons married 3 Tucker sisters.Wish that I knew more about John Millican. WOULD APPRECIATE if you can help. I don't have the Millican Bible but all of this came from family sources.Hallie Loy McCarter
