My Great grandfather was George Millership born 1 Nov 1840. His parents were Job born 7 Mar 1809 & Ann Simcon born 1810, both in Oldbury. I am pretty certain of this as it is in the family bible.
Most of the following I have deduced from census's - Free Bmd etc as well as the family bible and is as accurate as I can get it, but the Millerships are not the easiest family to trace. I am always open to corrections and suggestions!
George did indeed marry twice. Eliza Griffiths in 1861, and they had at least 3 children,
Anna Louisa 1870
Clara 1872 - all in Tividale, Rowley Regis.
Eliza died abt 1874 (perhaps in childbirth?), this being the year he married his 2nd wife, Lucy Fisher, and I think they had 10 children!
Thomas Roberts Millership 1875 Tividale *see note
Charles Henry Millership 1877 Tividale
Richard Millership 1879 West Brom
Eliza Ann Millership 1881 West Brom
Arthur Millership 1882 West Brom
May Millership 1884 West Brom
Cecelia Millership 1886 West Brom (?emigrated to Canada?)
John Millership West Brom (My G father)22 Aug 1888
Herbert Millership 1890 West Brom
Eunice K Millership 1892 West Brom
In the bible there is also a Sally, no date of birth or death, she does not appear on any census.
As a matter of interest, Lucy Fisher herself was previously married (in 1867 in Dudley) to Thomas Roberts b1843 of Chelmarsh Salop , with whom she had 3 children.
* Thomas Roberts Millership is in fact a son of the marriage of Lucy Fisher to Thomas Roberts and is entered as stepson on census, yet his DoB is about 1875, the marriage to George was 1874.
I don't have anything on any other George born abt 1840.
Hope this helps,
