Looking for male Millers to join the yDNA project at familytreedna.com. This can help to narrow the search for ancestors quite a bit. I have used this testing on several other lines of mine with great results. Once you have a match, you compare paper trails, and go on from there. For example, my maiden name is Warner. I recently had my father give a yDNA sample, and he had a perfect match with a Warriner, which as it turns out, is the original spelling of the surname. This Warriner cousin has a good paper trail to Henrico Co, VA, so we were able to find out where our William Warner came from originally through this yDNA testing. The surname Miller is an even more common name, and paper trails can be very sparse when going back to a time when these people were moving westward. So, this new genealogy tool---DNA testing---is very helpful in finding family lines! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. [email protected]
