James Patterson Miller, chief of police Tarentum, PA

I am looking for any information out there on a James Patterson Miller from Tarentum, Pennsylvania. He was my GGG grandfather, but I have not been able to find any date of birth, death, spouse's names... nothing. Except a very old framed painting of him in a police uniform, which was passed down to me after my grandfather died. According to my grandfather James Patterson Miller was the chief of police for Tarentum, PA. I estimate that he could have been born in the early to mid-1800s. His son's name (my GG grandfather) was Ralph Wayne Miller, also of PA. Any help out there would be greatly appreciated. Keith
