People You Should Know
Clare Miller
. . Motorists are fast learning the value of having their cars thoroughly overhauled at regular intervals. Don't wait until your car stops running before you put it in the shop. The longer you run it after it gets balky, the greater the harm and the greater the cost to have it put in condition. Clare Miller, owner of the Red Arrow Garage, 12 N. 3rd St., should have for his motto - "Fixing - Not Faking," because his garage is where all kinds of troubles are taken care of, even tops and body work. His shop foreman, Joe Sills, is a racer and a car builder, so you don't ever have to wonder if the job will be done right. "Clare" tried to whistle his first tune in Rockton. Got his first two cents a box for picking strawberries. Would rather play with the St. Charles Drum & Bugle Corps than with Ben Bernie. He was with the 32nd Div., Wisconsin, 18 months overseas. Came here when mustered out in 1919. Was with Simon Anderson 5 years and was finishing foreman for Hawley Products four years. Clare Miller has always done his share from a standpoint of citizenship. Has the welfare of his customers and this community at heart, and he makes friends without ever knowing how it happened himself.
Phone 2970 and ask: When did he take over Red Arrow Garage?
