Janet, I just don't know. I don't have a John Millen married to Barbara Moffatt in my files, and I don't have a Calvin Edmunds Millen.
My Millens apparently came from Scotland and went to Germany (Deutchland) and came to GA from there. I believe we are related to Stephen Millen who came to GA before the Rev. War and settled near the Saltzburgers close to Savannah. Some of his descendants went up the river and settled at Augusta, GA. My George Millen (abt 1760-1834) went to Jones Co., GA; family tradition says he, or his father, owned a plantation in Augusta.
I researched Millen, GA and there is no evidence that any of the Millens ever lived there. What I found was that the town was named for McPherson B. Millen, who became Superintendent of the Central of Georgia Railway in 1848; the town of Millen was on that RR line.
There was a large Millen family in Chester Co., SC about the same time. I believe they also came from Scotland. [There's also a New Zealand Millen family; I'll bet they're also from Scotland.]
I have a James Millen m. to Margaret Moffatt; and John Millen (abt 1770 - aft 1810) m. to Martha Moffatt (1777 - 1837). Those two women are not sisters; I don't know how they were related. I have their parents' names if you want them.
John Millen who m. Martha Moffatt is the head of one of the Millen families of SC; I don't know anything about James Millen. Information on John Millen & Martha Moffatt is from Myra C. Sims, 2556 Lake Ellen Drive, Tampa, FL 33618 (several years ago); which she got from the fishing Creek Presbyterian Church Cem., SC, and from William & Barbara Moffatt.
Do you know where your Barbara Moffatt was from? It could be that some of the SC Millens also came to GA. Do you want what I got from Myra Sims on that family? It's not much.
