Do you know anything about Andrew Myllar who lived in Edinburgh, Scotland, in the early 1500s? I am trying to identify a rumored possible link with my earliest Miller family ancestor: John Myllar, also from Edinburgh. John Myllar was born in or near Edinburgh about 1610. He married Mary sometime around 1632. They apparently soon after moved to East Suffolk, England. While records are somewhat in dispute, John and Mary Myllar came to Massachusetts colony in the mid 1630s to possibly the early 1640s. They eventually settled in the east part of Long Island, New York. One factor seems to to be the printing business. Andrew (or Androw) Myllar was a printer in Edinburgh. He is responsible for the printing of the first book in Scotland in 1508. John Myllar was also a printer and may have established a printing business soon after settling on Long Island. Can you add any information about John Myllar's ancestors with a possible family link to Andrew (or Androw) Myllar?
