The administrator who talked to me about my case would only give me "unidentifying" information from the file. Sarahs age was interpolated by me. I have been looking at anyone who was born from 1920 to 1927.I tried to obtain a copy of her birth certificate using [Sarah born in Pelzer, SC in 1925] but of course I needed the names of her parents. So I was refused. I have only her name and the Milford name. The fact that Sarah was born in Pelzer did come from her file. The administrator said there are notes in the file that indicate that some social workers had reservations about some conflicting of the information that Sarah gave during interviews. They have a file that spans 3yrs concerning first the placement of her first son in a boarding home and then 3 yrs later my birth and my adoption. There were apparently several contacts/interviews with Sarah.Ohio Adoption Laws allow me to have all the info in my file because I'm over 18 and born before the mid 1960s but the organization that handled my adoption has their own internal policy on releasing information so they refuse to allow me a copy of their file or to even see it. It's all very frustrating. It's worse than a brick wall.
