Hello Karl, I believe we are searching the same Mielke family. This is from the Mulgrave-Derry Township, Quebec, County of Labelle, census of 1891.
My gggrandmother was Henrietta Mielke, born in Prussia/Germany/Poland/Pomerania (depends on your source) May 21, 1851 and immigrated to the very small farming community of Inlet Quebec, in Mulgrave-Derry Township, County of Labelle in 1883/4. She married John (Ludwig or Johann) Pokrandt in Germany and their daughter Bertha was my ggrandmother, born about 1881. My grandmother was a Anna Bertha Henrietta, born in 1911, so the same persisted through the generations.
Here is the info I have:
Karl Mielke born 1830 Gramerz, Pomerania, married in 1860 to Carolina (Carlena Baerwald) immigrated to Canada in 1859, died 1901.
Their children:
1) Herman Mielke, born 1861 in Germany, married Evelyn (some records say Zena) Gimm and immigrated to Canada in 1863. Children were Lena, b. 1865; Edith b. 1887; Peter b. 1888, Mary b. 1889, Grace b. 1899, Minnie b. 1893, Walter, 1895, Ernest b. 1897, Daniel b. 1899.
2) Rienhold Mielke, born June 16, 1866, in Quebec. Married Minnie b. 1872 in Ontario, Children, Norman b. 1896 and Rebecca b. 1898 in Quebec
3) Paul Mielke, born 1870 in Quebec, wife Christina, b. 1875, dauther Georgie b. 1900
Unsure how Charles ties in, but I have him in the census in the same are, so here he is, but probably a brother to Karl.
Charles L. Mielke b. August 24, 1855 in Germany. Married Bertha b. 1853 in Germany. Children, Paul b. 1878, Herman 1878, Albert 1885, Hanna 1887, Joseph 1890, Fred 1892, Ida(?) 1892, Edward, 1897.
How my Henrietta ties into your group is unclear to me, however, I feel that your Karl and my Henrietta were probably brother and sister.
Would love to share info.
Cathy
