Glad to hear someone reseaching this also. I believe that it is actually Violet Manning and Thomas Midkiff. The date you give is correct...and the county is also correct. But Violet's parents were Charles and Catherine Burnett Manning....though the cherokee could also be correct. Are you working on the Midkiff namen or Metcalf...Manning? Maybe we just have some names incorrect.
