Rasmus Midgett- Life Saving Medal
Posted by: Terrie Hoelting Date: November 25, 1999 at 13:55:59

I have in my possession the Bronze Lifesaving medal awarded to Rasmus Midgett. I understand that each person was given a Gold Medal and then a Bronze "copy" to keep at home. I bought this at a garage sale in Missouri. If you are related and interested in the official story as told by the coast guard I'll be glad to share the details of his extraordinary efforts. He is not a relative of mine, but the story gives me goosebumps.
