A 37 marker DNA test may be helpful on a member of the Samuel family. John W. was in Tuscaloosa Co. AL 1840 with kids and slaves while wife was in Pickens Co. Al with kids, slaves and probably overseer. John W. was in Pickens 1830 with the whole family. He bought several tracts of federal land in Pickens. In 1825 Thomas Middleton sr. was In Monroe Co. Ms with a younger John/James. John/James was not in Ms 1830. John W. kids birth places seems to fit. I believe James was in Franklin Co. AL 1830/40. Thomas jr. was in Monroe 1840 and Itawamba Co. Ms 1850 living next to bro. in law's. Thomas sr. (Nancy Basket) hailed from Westmoreland Co. Va. He resided in NC/SC/Tn/Ms. Same general line as my Westmoreland Middleton's who migrated to NC/SC/Al/Ms. Erin C. Middleton descends from John W.. He is just one marker off by a point from myself on the 25 (13-25 markers) marker DNA test.
