Middendorf Family Genealogy Forum

Hi, again, Wes....the book I'm talking about is a "Separate Copy of the Middendorf Family" which I borrowed from the NEHGS, Boston, MA. It says that "a man named Bargeloh adopted the name Middendorf" but no date is listed. Next paragraph says "Since 1864, a member of the Middendorf family bears the name of Sammann after marrying the heiress Sammann at Dueste." There is a sketchy 3-gen lineage beginning with 1600 to @1696.
I found Diepholz on the map....it is in the area of my Middendorf family, near Hannover. Do you have Middendorfs in your lineage? Are you connected to either of the families mentioned in the book? Who are you especially interested in? Is the Middendorf Genealogy you have available for research? Have we got a common ancestor? Jean Kimball
