Hi! I need some help with a possible connection to the Middaughs of Allegany County--Scio area probably. In the 1880 Census of Cleveland, Cuyahoga, OH there is a Loren G. Middaugh married to an Elizabeth with his mother-in-law Phebe Lewis living with them. The Phebe Lewis I am looking for was the second wife of my great-great grandfather Thomas Lewis of Amity, Allegany County. Thomas Lewis married Mary Ann Hood. They had two children, Martha E. and John Llewellyn. Mary Ann died and Thomas remarried to Phebe Phinney. She apparently was married before...on the 1855 NYS Census. Thomas and Phebe are listed with children Martha,
Elizabeth, John and Henry and all have the Lewis surname--which I believe is an error.

Anyhow...from other poking around I'm think that Phebe Phinney may have married a Fitzsimmons and had Elizabeth and Henry. She then married Thomas the widower. I have seen an Elizabeth Fitzsimmons marrying a Loren G. Middaugh in Scio. Now I find this Loren and Elizabeth Middaugh with a Phebe Lewis living with them. Does anyone know anything about Loren G. Middaugh's wife? (Sorry to ramble!) Thanks!
