The following was found in the Republican Compiler, a newspaper in Adams County, Pennsylvania, 8 March 1847; p. 3, col. 3

"DIED--In Franklin Township on the 1st inst. Mrs. Harriet, wife of Joseph MICKLEY, and daughter of Daniel POLLY, aged 29 years, 5 months, and 7 days."

This places her death on 1 March 1847. Joseph married Rebecca on 12 June 1848 per the Republican Compiler, 19 June 1848, p. 3, col. 3:

"MARRIED--On 12 instant, by Rev. B. Keller, Mr. Joseph MICKLEY and Miss Rebecca, daughter of Henry BISEKER, both of Franklin Township."

My question is: To which mother does Elias belong, Rebecca or Harriet? He is listed as age 2 in the 1850 census along with Uriah, age 10. On the 1900 census for Perth, Kansas his birth is given as March 1849.

Given the space in their ages it would seem that they had different mothers. However, it could also be possible that the years are in error and Harriet died following childbirth.

Wives of Uriah:
1. Rebecca Biesecker, m. 27 October 1861 in Tippecanoe county, Indiana; ended in divorce
2. Annie Eliza Henderson, circa 1883; d. before 1907 of ruptured appendix
3. Victoria Dora ___ d. 11 Dec 1938

On 8 Dec 1916 Jennie Mickley died and is buried next to Uriah, relationship unknown.
