William Mickle and Hannah Turner, Essex County, Ontario, Canada, 1700s

Seeking the origins, family and descendants of William Mickle and Hannah Turner.

William was a Shipwright (apprenticed papers in Malden Museum, Amherstburg. Ontario.). He came to America from Scotland and was attached to the government shipyards at Detroit. Chatham. Amherstburg and York (Toronto). While in Amherstburg he made rope from the hemp grown by the farmers of Essex Co. for that use. This is now known as marijuana.

William Mickle m. about 1792 Hannah Turner of Chatham, Ontario

He died in 1814 at York of "Lake Feaver".
       
Children of WILLIAM MICKLE and HANNAH TURNER are:
       i.       WILLIAM2 MICKLE.
       ii.       HANNAH MICKLE.
       iii.       JOHN MICKLE, b. July 03, 1795; d. February 09, 1869, Oxley, Colchester Township, Essex County, Ontario, Canada.
       iv.       LUCY MICKLE, m. THOMAS BRUSH.
       v.       JAMES MICKLE, m. ELIZABETH KEMP.
