HI,
As with all early genealogy, many names were repeated over generations....so it gets confusing. There are many generations of Mordecai(s) in MIchener genealogy.
First question
Mordecai, born 1-30-1723 in Plumstead was the son of William Michener, born 10-14-1696. He (William) married Mary Custer at Abington Meeting house in the 4th mo of 1720 (3-20-1720). She was a grand daughter of Paulus Custer (Kuster) of Germantown. Related to "Last Stand Kuster"
Second Question:
I hope I listed a CATHERINE as a daughter of Mordecai and Sarah......she is listed once more in my books "Esther Brown was born 4-9-1792. She married Levi Thompsonin 1816. He was born 8-23-1792. He was her first cousin, a son of Willilam Thompson and Catherine (Michener) Thompson. She died 3-10-1842. He died 9-9-1851
Children: Elizabeth, William B., Eli Lesley, Rebecca, Catherine, Hannah, Jane, Barak, Heston, and Phoebe
POOR WOMAN!!!
Kinsey is a huge surname in Michener genealogy, but there is not a Jeremiah B. listed.
OK.......I am getting confused.....just found
Catherine Michener was born 11-8-1766. Her family moved to Chester County before she married. She received a certificate of transfer from Buckingham to New Garden with her parents 8 mo. 1785. she married William Thompson in 1798, they had 8 children,(though 12 are listed ? died?). He died 7-19-1806.
Children: Levi, Hannah, John, Ann, Esther, Barak, George, Joseph, DAvid , Robert, Mordecai and Sarah
Hannah was born 8-25-1793. She married Joseph Kennard.
Children: Catherine, Esther, Mary, Tacy, William, Eli, Hannah, Joseph, David
Second spouse.....Benjamin Kinsey
Children, Samuel, Margaret, and Benjamin
Phew all for now!!! Karen
