Dear Mr. Stillinger,
I was wandering if you ever found your connection to the Michel's in Missouri? My husband's great grandfather was Edward J. Michel 1858-1936. Edward's father was Johann Heinrich Michel 1822-1887 born in Germany. He Married Maria Seibert 1824-1895 From Germany. Johann was the blacksmith & wagon maker in St. Louis. Their was another John Michel that was also a blacksmith. (I've really have to watch when I check records.) Our John had a brother Frederick that was also a Blacksmith in Franklin Co., MO. I know John's father was also a Johann Heinrich and his mother was Katherina Nungessor. John was born out off wedlock (says his bapitismal record). His younger brother's, Frederick, death certificate shows having same parents. If they are not the family your looking for, I hope you find your connection.
