Lorraine, thank you for your message. There were many Michel families in the St. Louis and south Illinois area.
As in Germany, Michel is a very common name. I will search through the information we have to see if anything can be found.
The St. Louis Libraries and St. Louis newspapers have old records and obituaries available and some online.
