I am also researching a member of my family from this region. My great grandfather was Paul Michaels born 1889 in Pressburg (now Bratislava) Czechoslovakia. I have found him in some records as Michel and Michael. I am wondering if there was a name change and if so what the original name was, when it was changed, and why.
