Hello Jean. I don't know much about my Michels other than what I posted. This branch of my tree moved from Hessen to Schallodenbach before 1714. Unfortunately, I have no idea where in Hessen they are from and know of nothing about Michels in Hessen other than this seems to be a hotspot for the surname. As far as I know, no Michels from this branch came to North America. The last Michel I know was Phillipna Michel who married Jakob Bossong in Schallodenbach in the mid-1800s. It was their sons who came to the US in 1880. However, I was unaware until recently that there's a lot of Michels in the Pittsburgh area (my hometown). But, at this point, I've stalled on my Michel research. Sorry I could not be of any assistance. If you ever turn up any Michels from your family in Schallodenbach, there's a good possibility of a connection between us. As I find out information, I usually post it to the message boards. Good luck on your search...and if you find any information about Michels in Hesse/Hessen, please let me know. Like I said, I've hit a wall right now. Thanks.
