I have John MICHAEL (was spelled Michel also at one time, census takers' spelling) that was born in Frederick, MD and migrated to OHIO around the 1830's or 1825's. This line is also dated back to Germany by his father 1730 (sorry, my notes are not in front of me for the exact date). If you have Geisberts, etc in your line, this is the right line. If not, I have seen John Michels in VA postings.
