Maybe I can help..... Christine, you sent me the Michaud-Paradis line a little over a year ago. I have tried to sort out how William (Guilluame) is connected to Frank (Francois). They are half-brothers, both sons to Joseph Michaud. William's mother was LUCE RIVARD dit LACOURSIERE (Married LUCE 8/7/1807 Kamouraska, Quebec, Canada). Frank's mother was LOUISE ROY dit DESJARDINS (Married LOUISE 9/15/1826 Kamouraska, Quebec, Canada)
I don't know if half-brother William (b. 1805) came to Larimer County but at least two of his children came here: Loius-Trancrede and William, maybe more. William's (Guilluame) son William (b.9/15/1844) built one of 2 Michaud homestead homes-his still stands at corner of Michaud Lane and Overland Trail Rd in 1881. The home historically is called the Ver Straeten home. The other Michaud homestead was built by Frank and wife Aurelie (not sure of date but my husband's grandmother Marie Michaud was born in the house). It is located on North Shields Street and was sold to Fort Collins Nursery in the 1990's.
William (b. 1844) married Celina Francis Harris in 1878 after the death of her first husband Louis Phillipe Orleans. They homesteaded 160 acres on Overland Trail Rd. (I'm not sure if this is the same homestead property that is known as the Ver Straeten home- Mike... do you know??) Louis ran a trading post and served as postmaster in LaPorte, CO. He died after long-lasted effects when wounded by an arrow in the Sand Creek Massacre.
A lot of my information is an oral history from my father-in-law (son of Marie Michaud and grandson of Frank and Aurelie), Vonnie Corbin, and Christine Kowal. Vonnie, if you are reading this, maybe you can help clarify.
Of interest is that there were 3 ROY dit DESJARDINS sisters who are tied into the Michaud family: Thecle ROY dit DESJARDINS married Etienne Paradis, had a daughter Aurelie, who married Frank Michaud. Her sister Louise ROY dit DESJARDINS married Joseph Michaud, had son Frank, who married cousin Aurelie. (did you follow that?!?!) Finally, sister Emilie ROY dit DESJARDINS married Guilluame (William) Michaud and had son William Michaud. There are Desjardins here in Larimer County also.
