A couple of weeks ago I went to Carroll Co., GA and saw the graves of Peter and Rebecca Michael. They are in the Tallapoosa Primative Baptist Ch. Cem on Tyrus Road in Carrollton, GA. Tombstone reads Peter Michael born Sept 24, 1818 and died May 30, 1889. Rebecca w/o Peter born Jan 16, 1817 and died July 30, 1905. Married Apr 24, 1832.

The 1880 census says Peter was born in TN and Rebecca in SC. He was a blacksmith.
The father of Peter was either Barney Michael or Peter Michael of Monroe County, TN. You will find both Barney and Peter in the 1830 census of Monroe Co., TN. In 1831 Barney moved to Carroll Co. The Peter in Monroe Co was age 30-40 with a male child age up to 5 yrs.

I found a marriage record of Nancy Louisa Michael and Michael Powers were joined in the Holy bonds of Matrimony on the 22 day of November, 1860 by Henry Asbery, JP. This is in Book C-2, page 57 in the Carroll Co. Courthouse. The license was issued 17 Nov 1860.

The marriage of Peter Michael and Rebecca Martin is in the book "Marriages and Wills and Inventory Appraisments 1828-1845.

The 1850 Census records Louisa as age 7. This would put her birth year around 1843 but your date for her was 1848. If she was born in 1848 she was married at age 12. The 1860 census records her as age 18.

My line is not through Peter but through Barney, then William then William R, then William L.
