Juanita,Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner,but have been working on other families. Do you have any new information? Jared Michael and Ruth Shoemake were married in Dearborn County,Indiana in 1833 and lived there until 1850 ,then moved to Wayne County,Illinois. Last March I was in Xenia,Illinois where Jared Wesley Michael and Margaret Ellen Strange,my great-grandparents, were married in 1864.I went to the courthouse in Flora but did,t find anything new. There are some Michaels who are listed in the phone book there. I wrote their names down but haven't tried to contact them. I have thought that maybe the Caspar Michael who lived in Clay County was the first Jared's brother but have no proof.
