Karen, I am sure that there is a connection somewhere, but I don't know where. There are three Phillip Michael's in the 1850 Decatur County, census. One is a Phillip Michael who married Mary, another is my Phillip Michael who m Elizabeth and another is Phillip Michael who m Mahala. Each of these Phillips are 20-25 years younger then the other one. So it is possible they are Grandparent, parent and son.
Also the mother of William Henry Voiles is Orpha E. Michael, she married Benjamin Reece Voiles in Decatur Co., In. I am almost positive that she is a daughter of Phillip Michael and Mary and the Phillip who m Elizabeth is probably their son. I think that Phillip who m Mahala is the son of Phillip and Elizabeth. Just speculating here.
