In Reply to: ELIZABETH MICHAEL, 1740's PA by Robert Stroupe of 1585

I have reference in a book that some of the Palatine Debtors, who were original settled in the Hudson Valley by the British Crown in 1710, migrated to Tulpehocken, PA to avoid starvation. My own ancestor, Abraham Michael married into descendants of Palatine Debtors. That family name was Weatherwax. So while I have no specific reference to an Elizabeth Michael, you may want to check out, Henry Z. Jones, Jr.,"The Palatine Families of New York: A Study of the German Imigrants Who Arrived in Colonial New York in 1710," Universal City, CA 1985.
