Do you have any hard evidence that Christoper and Andrew I were brothers and that they were the sons of Franz Ludwig Michael? I looked for years through the records of Frederick County MD, where I grew up, and never found a connection between Christopher and Andrew, who lived in different parts of the county and belonged to different churches. Many of my distant relatives have long claimed that our Christopher was the son of Franz Ludwig, but none have ever come up with any evidence. (The person that they cited as the source told me over the phone that the link was just speculation on his part; there was no evidence other than a commonality of names between Christopher's children and Franz Ludwig's business associates.) I've read accounts of Franz Ludwig's explorations of America. He spent so much time exploring in America -- years at a time -- that I find it unlikely that he could have fathered four children in Switzerland.
