I have William Thomas MICHIEL from Bovedy, near Kilrea, Co. Derry, North Ireland. Surname spelling was changed from MICHAEL upon entry to Canada in 1864. I am searching for his siblings and parents in Ireland. I suspect his father was William and his mother was Elizabeth but do not have definite proof. William married Elizabeth LENNOX of Kilrea shortly before emigration. His obit of 1930 states that he emigrated to Canada at the same time as 2 brothers and a sister did so to Australia. William was in the Chicago area and bought land in 1870-72. I have found MICHAEL and LENNOX in that area as well. LENNOX were definitely cousins to Elizabeth.
Hope this gives you some direction.
