That is my problem.......her folks are mentioned in the letters as Caroline and Chester--and they must be in Erie Co.,NY unless they have slipped across the county line into Catt. or Chaut. Co.,NY
Then the letters speak of Janie and Neal taking dinner with her when he went to the Rollway---then later it says "She is happy with (new) husband and Marion is so good to her"
That is the challenge of working on this for someone else. Curiosity keeps me reading census images line by line into the wee hours. Knowing the Twp certainly cuts down the area to scan.
You info has been so informative about Life in that part of MI in those late 1800's. I will try looking for Janie & Marion (I hope that is not a pet name he goes by) in 1900 Hannover Twp tonight
If Neal & Augusta were m in 1873---then possibly they could have been in that Henderson/Henerson area before 1800.
Also I am missing the Josiah J Whittemore and wife, Ida, who went to Hoxeyville & had a daughter born there in 1896. He is a nephew of Augusta.
Ida died in 1903 and is buried back in Collins Center, Erie Co.,NY So I do not know how long they were in Hoxeyville. If you find any Whittemore records or births for 1896 please jot them down.
Well off to the census chore!
Thanks, Jan.....you are an asset to have on the other end of this keyboard!
