I'm surching for data about a Mayor in Manton, Mi. between 1922 and 1945, his name was Benjamin Dontje, born 1870 in Kalamazoo, Mi. moved from Portage to Manton on 01-17-1921, he died 12-20-1945 in Manton, Mi.was married with Elgin (Ella) Rhem, who died 02-01-1941 in Manton, Mi.
Benjamin was Mayor of Manton at one time and was a pioneer settler in Michigan. He became very successful from his celery farming. Is buried at Manton Fairview Cemetery, Manton, Mi.
