I have a century-old written family history of Salmon Howes Matthews, born 1799 in Masachusetts, who moved to Dexter Michigan in the early 1800s. I have found an 1827 record of land purchase, but not a single census entry for him! The Salmon R Matthews in Troy appears to be a different man.
Salmon H Matthews' wife may be Arabella, and children may be William, Angeline and Isabel (married Charles Clark).
I'm hoping for a lookup of his gravesite in "Cemetery Inscriptions in Washtenaw County Michigan 1825-1940. Compiled by Elizabeth E. James. Ann Arbor, 1968.
