I think the book you are looking for is: History of Berrien & Van Buren County, D.W. Ensign Co., 1880. 548 pages.

I don't have this book, but if anyone is interested, it is available for purchase (reprint)from Higginson Book Company at www. higginsonbooks .com. I got a Cass county book from them--they are printed on demand so it does take about 10 weeks to get it.
