Alanson Todd-Ashtabula, Van Buren Co.,MI

Does anybody have any information on Alanson Todd or his family? Alanson was born 04 Dec 1820 in Shelby, Orleans Co., NY and d. sometime after 1875, probably in Michigan. He was a carpenter and a Justice of the Peace.

Alanson Todd m. (1) Hester Maria Frary, 02 Jul 1840 in Rome, Lenawee Co., MI. They were parents of four children: Ira Spear Todd, b. 28 Jan 1842 in Rome, Lenawee Co., MI, Samuel Warren Todd, b. 15 Jun 1843 in Ashtabula, Van Buren Co., MI, Lydia Jane Todd, b. 26 Aug 1850 in Bengal Co., MI and d. 29 May 1859 in Ronald, Ionia Co., MI and Lucretia Ellen Todd, b. 02 Aug 1858 in Gratiot Co. (?).

Perhaps Alanson was on some sort of preaching circuit, because he married at least two couples in Pine River, Gratiot Co., MI in 1856. I know he was Baptist.

Anyway, Alanson's first wife, Hester, died in Ronald, Ionia Co., MI on 14 Mar 1860, age 37.

Alanson waited around 5 long months and then married Milicent (Melissa?) Jane Raymond, 13 Aug 1860 in Lenawee Co., MI. Alanson's firstborn, Ira Spears Todd enlisted in the Civil War in June 1861 and died in August that year. Milicent/Melissa died in 1867.

Alanson and Milicent/Melissa were parents of three children: Hester Jane Todd, b. 04 Nov 1861 in Rome, Lenawee Co., MI, Levi Todd, b. 18 Jan 1864 in Rome and Mary Eudora Todd, b. 18 Jan 1866 in Blendon, Ottawa Co., MI.

Alanson waited another long, hard 3 months and married Rhoda Jane Bailey, or Aug 1867 in Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI. They were parents of two daughters, Nellie Todd, b. 25 Sep 1868 in Blendon, Ottawa Co., MI and Rosa Todd, b. 24 Aug 1870 in Ross, Kalamazoo Co., MI. Rhoda Jane was still alive in 1875, but, like her husband, I don't know when or where they died.

I'd LOVE to hear from anybody that knows anything about this family.
