Yes, I just came from Herrick Library in Holland and there I found that Franklin J. was indeed married to what looks like Loamie but I believe that it is Naomi Barnum Earl. They were married 29 Nov 1877 and Harry was born in Augus of 1878. Franklin J. stands for Judson. All according to the 1880 Census. The 1870 Census tells me that Franklin's parents were J. P. Earle and Mary. Their JP born in Vermont and Mary his wife in NY. Franklin 15 born in MI. However, the brick wall turns out to be that the next two children were born in Minnesota and Edward age 3 back in MI.

So I have them back to Vermont. Since Franklin's middle name is Judson, I believe that it is likely his father being jp is Judson P. Earle age 46 in 1870.

The family seems to be Paw Paw, Hartford, Hamilton. So I am making progress and thanks much to you! Now to Vermont! barb
