George Tittle was the second settler in Van Buren Co., my 3x great grandfather Dolphin Morris was the first. They came from Ross Co., Ohio. George married Dolphin's sister Nancy,
August 1, 1812 in Ross Co., I have a copy of the record. I got my original copy at the State Library back in early 70's. It can now be found on Ross Co. Website. Marriage records from 1789-1850. I have more info. on the Morris's, but not the Tittles/Tuttles as they are not direct relations of mine. However, I'm sure there's probably more in the "Scrapbook History of Decatur Mich.& Vicinity 1829-1976" by Catherine Howland it's 2 volumes and I have a copy. The first marriage in Van Buren Co. was Elijah Goble to Eliza Tittle but I'd have to hunt through my stuff to find the date if I have it. I will see what I can do.
