I am looking for information on a John Southward-Southard.
I understand they used both spellings of the name for the
same person in the 1800's.I believe that John and his brother Thomas both came to Van Buren County,Michigan
in the late 1700,s or early 1800,s.John bought some property
in Van Buren County in 1837.I do not know who John married
for I have not been able to find a marriage license on
line as of yet.I do know that John is my gr.-gr. grandfather. He had a son named David H. Southward who married a Minnie D.Myres year and date unknown.I do not
know if John has more children or not.Information I have
came from my grandfather's death certificate. My grandfather's name was Burt Southward he married a Nina
Collins March17,1914 in Quincy,Michigan which I think is
in Branch County.Any information would help. Thanks,Deb
