I am looking for information to establish links from HILL's who settled in southwestern MI from the late 1830's to the late 1840's, back to their origins in Vermont.
Native Vermont given names include Willard, Lyman, James, William Charles, Byron and Chauncey.
Family associations in both VT and MI include NORTHROP's (and NORTHRUP's) as well as RUDD's and McOMBER's.
There appear to be two related HILL populations in Van Buren County: a group which appeared in the late 1830's or early 1840's, and the descendants of a single Cass County line (William Chauncey, or "Chancy", HILL) which lived in Keeler Twp. in the 1880's and then spread to Berrien County and back to Cass County in the 1900's.
Any assistance would be deeply appreciated and reciprocated with shared family information.
