Hi Bill,
I have a transcription of the Middlebury Cemetery locatded in Middlebury Township, Shiawassee County. This was compiled and printed by the Elsie Historical Society, website (unofficial?) at http://www.rootsweb.com/~migratio/elsiehiso/elsiehistsoc.htmlhttp://www.rootsweb.com/~migratio/elsiehiso/elsiehistsoc.html .This transcription includes the following:
MUNSIL, Amelia d. 28 SEP 1863 (Spouse Hosea Munsil)
MUNSIL, Calvin d. 02 FEB 1865
Elsie (and Ovid) are actually in Clinton County, which is a neighboring county to Shiawassee. Many of my ancestors are from Clinton County, and my parents moved from there to Owosso when I was one year old (1959).It is just a short drive from one to the other.
In the Maple Grove Cemetery, located in Ovid, there are three MACK family members (Transcription also by the Elsie Historical Society):
Martha d. 00 APR 1912
Rhoda 1830-1889
Sanford H. 1828-1899
No other information is given next to these names.
In the Ford Cemetery (Transcription by the Elsie Historical Society and M. Leydorf)(cemetery located 2 miles north of Elsie) there is one MACK: Edward John, (1922-1985).There are also three MUNSEL family members: Joe 1886-192; Margaret E.1852-1922 (her parents are listed as John & Mary (Merret) Davidson); Seth 1842-1924.
Regarding your MACK research, you might also look into all surrounding counties, and include Eaton County in your efforts. In my research of our Sheldon family, we have a transcription of the Bosworth Cemetery in Eaton County (cemetery located between Olivet and Charlotte Michigan, Eaton County). When I spoke to the Eaton County Genealogical Society, the person was a MACK and we talked about her family history and there are a number of MACK's in the Bosworth Cemetery.Gratiot County should be another option because there are MACK family members in the North Star Cemetery (transcription again by the Elsie County Historical Society).
You may find these organizations through www.usgenweb.com through the Michigan US GenWeb Project webpages, and then through the various counties. This is a great tool.
Please contact me if I may provide other information.Good Luck!
