I am searching for the GIBSON that Candice was married to before she married HENRY JAMES on Jan 1, 1850 in Shiawassee Michigan. They appear in the 1850 census there and Candice had 2 children: ADELAIDE GIBSON AND JAMES W. GIBSON when she married Henry James. They went by JAMES in the 1850 census, but in 1860, in Holly, Oakland MI, they appear as GIBSON's...The James family appear to have remained in Michigan, Adelaide married an ALBERT FOOTE and JAMES W. GIBSON moved to Jasper Co., IL and married a VINDIA C. BROOKS. He stayed in IL.
Candice was b. about 1820, NY
Adelaide was b. about 1846, MI
James W. was b. about 1845, MI
It would appear that the father(GIBSON)died before 1850.
Would like to find who their GIBSON father was.
