Dear Pat,
I have done a preliminary search for any and all spellings of Coler, Collar, Cohler, Kollar, Koler, Koehler etc. and can not find a Joseph anywhere. There are Collar's and Coler's in the area, in fact quite a few. But I am sorry to say I haven't been able to find your Joseph. Although, death records don't start until 1867 in this county, so it's very possible that he died before they started keeping those records. Have you been able to find anything on your own?
