OBITUARY - The Times Herald, Port Huron Michigan USA, February 9 2001

PORT SANILAC -- Laura F. "Pat" Ropposch, 79, of Port Sanilac died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001, at McKenzie Memorial Hospital in Sandusky.
She was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Brown City, the daughter of Anthony and Louise Wilson O'Malley.
She married Louis J. Ropposch on July 27, 1946 in Detroit and would have celebrated their 55th anniversary this July.
Pat was a lifelong resident of the Thumb and worked at Mercy Hospital and Port Huron Hospital as a registered nurse. She also worked as an industrial nurse at Mueller Brass Co.
During her life she connected with many people throughout the Port Huron area as well as Gulf Shores, Ala., where she lived during the winter months until this past year.
Pat was loved by all and was a positive influence on all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Pat is survived by seven children and their spouses, Karolyn and James Berry, Louis Jr. and Anne Ropposch, Mary and Paul Craig, Betty and James St. Germain, Thomas and Debra Ropposch, Rita and David Walson and Martha and Thomas McManus. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by brothers, Jesse and Thomas O'Malley, and sisters, Rose Kaake and Mary Ellen Dojka.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Port Sanilac. A reception will follow the Mass and memorial service at the church.
Pat donated her remains to Wayne State University School of Medicine to further medical education and research.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 7066 W. Main Street, Port Sanilac, MI 48469 or to a a charity of the donor's choice.
